Volunteer vacancies at Hillside Rovers
Running Hillside Rovers relies on a team of volunteers, mostly parents of players, and we need a range of skills – not just footballers. The following are vacancies for volunteers at the moment or coming up soon. Please ask your year group coaches or a committee member for more information. This isn't a complete list – ideas are always welcome. The present team will help and advise anyone who volunteers.
Website manager
To help maintain, with the club secretary, www.hillsiderovers.co.uk. This could include adding match reports and photos and updating contacts, pitch rota etc. Good English skills are essential and access to web software a big advantage.
Quartermaster
To oversee the Hillside Rovers clubhouse. This could include: organising periodic tidy ups; ordering (in agreement with the treasurer/committee) new kit such as balls and goals; from time-to-time, sorting out the lost property and boot boxes.
Coaches – under sixes
Each year group is coached by parents from that year group - which means recruiting a team every year. With support and training from the coaches from older age groups, we need a team of parents to get involved football with year one boys and girls. We've made a good start but more help will be welcome.
Coaches/assistant coaches - all year groups
There's always scope for more help with all year groups. Helping out on a Saturday morning is good way to start - the club will organise a CRB check. Particular needs at the moment: (1) U8's: more assistant coaches (2) U9's: coaches who can take the 4-day Level One coaches' course run by the FA (all bar £10 paid for by the club).
Fundraising/sponsorship
Help is always needed with fundraising and sponsorship and ideas are welcome. This could include helping with elements of the club's annual Fun Day in May.
Refreshments
Help with providing coffee/tea/squash in the clubhouse on Saturdays. Some of the U7 mums are now running this: offers of help to them would be appreciated.
To find out more, please ask any club official or your year group coach.
