Welcome to Hillside Rovers FC

Hillside Rovers is a friendly football club based at Hillside Avenue School, but independent from the school and with many players from other schools in the area.

The club's philosophy is to get as many children involved in football, regardless of their ability, sex or nationality. We are not 'win at all costs' but seek to strike a balance between being a competitive club and also giving opportunity to children of all abilities.

Training sessions are held at Hillside School between 9.30am and 11.00am for Under 6's and Under 7's and from 9.30am to 11.30am (sometimes a little earlier) for all other age groups, from September to mid-May.

Because these premises are the school's, we are bound by school rules so can not allow dogs or smoking. no smoking no dogs

We are run by volunteers who are all parents of players. Hillside Rovers is an FA Charter Standard Club. This means that we comply with criteria laid down by the FA, such as qualified coaches who are CRB checked. We are also a registered charity and are affiliated to Norfolk County Football Association.

Our five year groups are from Year 1 (under sixes) to Year 5 (under 10's). We are affiliated to St Andrews Football Club so our players normally move on to there from Year 6, when 11-a-side soccer starts.

If you are interested in joining Hillside Rovers, please ask one of your year group's coaches  or click the "Contact us" link above and we'll get back to you very soon.

Invitation to year 1 boys and girls to try football

Hillside Rovers is again proving popular, with excellent numbers taking part. There is lots of room for more under sixes; other year groups are near capacity, so if you' d like to join we'd be grateful if you could first  check with the year group coaches or a club official.

Volunteer vacancies

Help with Saturday morning refreshments needed ... one example of how running Hillside Rovers relies on a team of volunteers. Most are parents of players, and we need a range of skills – it's not just footballers. Click here to read more about vacancies for volunteers at the moment or coming up soon.
