Match Report - Under 9's, Hunters, Sun 18th November 2007, Firside Published date - Sun 18/11/07

Firside 2 - 0 Hillside(B)
Hillside(B) 0 - 0 Poringland
Poringland ? - ? Firside

Our squad for today’s games consisted of Jona (GK), James, Ryan, Jimmy J, Curtis, Ethan, Emily, Kyle and Oliver.

Postponed from last week, today we travelled to Firside near the airport for this afternoon's fixtures against Firside and Poringland.
Seeming like a relatively pleasant autumn day, once we began around 1pm the weather was freezing and the wind was whipping up a treat.Thank heavens for Macdonalds coffee nearby.

First Game was:-

Firside vs, Hillside(B)

Firside in red made a bright start and took the lead midway through the first half. Hillside fought back but a sudden and slick break from Firside combined with an even slicker finish put Firside into a 2 - 0 lead.
Hillside held on and went into the break with their heads up.
The second half saw Hillside gain most of the possession and came close to scoring near the end.
The match finished 2-0 to Firside.

Hillside(B) vs. Poringland

Straight on again Hillside wore red bibs for this fixture as Poringland were wearing their smart yellow kit.
A titanic struggle commenced and continued through to the half-time whistle.
After the break Hillside had the majority of the play but were unable to find a way through the Poringland defence.
Three minutes from time Curtis whipped in cross and Oliver scored, only for the ref to blow up for ball out of play.
Shame the Hillside parents didn't hear the ref's whistle as they were celebrating the goal even after the kids had and play had resumed with a goal kick.
Emily took a bad knock but continued to the end.

As Coach Eddie says, we win as a team and we loose as a team, we are a team.
