Year Group News - Under 8's

With two years of training under our belts the Hillside Rovers under 8's are getting in to their stride.

This year we start regular matches with two teams in the Norwich Youth Football Combination (NYFC). For fixtures, please see the link on the fixtures page. At this age the matches are all friendlies so results and league tables are not officially recorded. Boys who play have to be registered with NYFC. Matches are officially five-a-side, plus 'rolling' subs. Match days usually involve three teams playing each other, though occasionally there are either two or four clubs involved.

We have successfully signed up 20 boys with a weekly turn out between 15 and 18. Throughout last season we continued to see new faces attend. The boys are enthusiastic in training and clearly have fun while developing their football skills. Thanks to the coaches team who volunteer their free time to coach the boys. New faces are always welcome to support and work with the coaches. We look forward to build on last year's success as an U7's team this year.    Photos, right and below, taken at a tournament in Taverham, July 2011
